Blissful isolation, allow me my peace,
tranquil abdication, silence now is key.
Pretty pagination, your numbers now cease.
Sapid caffeination, resting on my knee.
Restful relaxation, curled up with a book
Imbibe distillations poured for my drinking.
Sudden excitation...is that a dog?
Quiet contemplation, I adore thinking.
Confused indignation. Are you out running?
Like, there's a pandemic happening....?
Sonic trephination shut that dog up please!
F%$# agitation I AM TRYING TO READ!!
Please sit still and try to smile,
put that down, you juvenile!
Why do you insist on running?
Stop pinching him and who is humming?!
Someone go outside and see
why your mom keeps calling me.
The meat will burn if I don't check.
GET DOWN RIGHT NOW you'll break your neck!
Your whining stabs me in the heart...
The dog ate cheese I smelled its fart.
Help me, God, the table's set.
What I make is what you get.
Listen here children, I'll tell y'all a Cow tale.
There was a Cow spot for Cow boys to drink,
a place where they could Cow poke fine ladies.
A Cow hand could find himself in a fight,
Cow punchers found a way out pretty quick,
but mostly people came to chew the cud.
Bartenders demand hefty Cow tipping
for their delectable, home grown Cow pies.
For vegans, green salads with Cattle ranch.
Then, one night someone showed up to Cow hide.
His truck was Cow Towed; he was skipping town.
He was too dumb to Steer, and that's no Bull.
He had been caught, drunk, laying on the horn.
He sat down,
It’s a secret:
To be said in a low voice
Pass it on to very few;
Who they are is your own choice
Just make sure you always do
Take extra special care
As this is information
You don’t want to easily share
In fact, only those you trust
To keep things to their self
Are the ones you should pick
To offer up this wealth
If you tell too many people
- It got spread once before -
Then it simply will not be
A secret anymore!
Restricted in a way I’d rather not be
There’s only so much in life that is free
And my mind is allowed to wander at will
So at least I’ve got that - and my faculties still!
The air and the grass are all ours so it seems
Along with our right to have our own dreams
So, whether they’re small or even quite large
Hold onto them now as they may start to charge!
Never being centre stage
Means waiting in the wings
You listen for your cue
Whilst thinking other things!
You hope your turn will come
And you wish with all your heart
Then you find that someone else
Has stolen your prized part!
If all the world’s a stage
As Shakespeare once did say
Then perhaps the other players
Could just up and go away!

Literature
Behave, Please (We're British!)
Some humans are such rowdy things
It might be better if they all grew wings
And took off high to reach the stars
En route to Pluto, Saturn and Mars!
That way there would be room on earth
For the happy souls full of joy and mirth
We’d make this world a better place
With plenty of peace for the human race!
Those hateful ones making life so hard
Would then be from our planet barred
Until they learn just how to behave
And to have a good time without the rave!
Hot summer days
And heat-soaked nights
Need rain for the flowers -
Showers would be nice!
The onslaught of storms
With a build-up of heat
Make everyone run
Before getting soaked feet!
The weather arrives
And does what it does
But it can’t manufacture
Something everyone loves!
