Numbing

Dreams can't be held, they all slip away. The heart ached so much, now it's shrunken and gray. Doused are the fires, ambitions, they die. No more inspiration, the wells have run dry. So dull and empty, so tired and lame. Nothing but a barely flickering flame. The temple has crumbled, worn down to sand. This life has no taste, it's all become bland. The excitement has dwindled, all that's left is a crumb. The body's lost feeling, in fact it's just numb.

Another Year That Mattered (Birthday 2024)

Another Year That Mattered Birthday 2024 By J.C. Solis What is it like to be much older still? For all through this life, I’ve yet had my fill Of the wonders and joy that I have seen Of kindness and hope, of which I still wean What is it like with one year that has passed? Of these memories which I hope will last And the making of more, I will now gaze At the next rising sun, my life’s new phase For twenty-eight years I have come to know The joys and pain that, to me, Life would show And with this, I hope to live for more years Without fear, even as my death draws near And so, I hope, through this birthday so sweet I’ll still have strength not to admit defeat…

Hark the Herald! Angels sing.

I heard the voice of a friend from the past inside of the flames of a candelabra.  The church was quiet save for the murmurs, misguided prayers intended for entendre. From my sad reverie I was rustled as his voice brought back a familiar comfort. Though it did not silence the church goers,  whose unkind thoughts had left my mind encumbered, I felt the barest of smiles on my face. Soon his voice was joined by a host of angels. They spoke to me with unwavering strength, renewing my confidence in the faithful.  I stood with the weight of the world lightened and made my way to the vestibule's entrance.  I returned to my throne over the earth, my devotion restored to its attendance.

Alone - A Second Verse (Poem)

Alone A Second Verse By J.C. Solis In the sea of millions And yet still a lonesome life The agony of bearing Being one among so many But though the sun shines Among those who seek company I am still living life With a lonesome heart and soul What is this world? Where so many people dwell And yet I still can’t find The courage to now rise The second death of life To one day be forgotten The many who are lost The few who have been found In this world full of plenty Of food, life, and death And yet the starving clamor And so do too the ignorant For the world is an oxymoron Our beautifully ruined home Our tomb and our own coffin Our cradle and our womb I don’t know if I should come Out of hiding and go mingle The narcissistic empaths The villainous saintly masses For I am still afraid And I am still in limbo For I chose to live this life I chose to live Alone But maybe one day soon I shall crawl from out my shell To go out in the morning And come back in the

Desperation

I’ve been writing, supporting your cause, just like a devoted fan… And yet, you still sound so desperate, pushing for lots more. What more do you want, then—that I go back to my past behaviour?

The Criminals Outside

Guarded you won’t know The world’s only a prison And your freedom’s Such a rare luck You will never think with a free mind Unless you’re not casted out The politics and religions Keeping you inside Maybe good that you won’t know It wouldn’t set you free This consciousness feels just like Flying above the flames You’re only thinking more And more, and more How you’re against this world So many places you’d be killed On our wild planet Earth Glad that you're still alive You couldn’t ask for more Your freedom is to live your life In accordance with your soul No guarantee that you will get What hasn’t been given to you The prison’s guarded carefully By the criminals outside

My Heart Goes Out to You

My Heart Goes Out to You: A Trip to the 9/11 Memorial Museum Here's something oft ignored: the haunted While you with your tourism and falseness walk by the pits, you cannot know the event truly While they, the haunted, as rogue spirits, will roam for years succeeding it in desperate search of solace I did not know you, Jesus Sanchez, but you are known to my parents from a party acquaintance before my birth Your face is on a wall, now, just one of 2,977, but that's not all that's left of you Those who truly knew you will not discard you, like any strangers who see your photograph may I stood on sacred ground today Afterwards, my parents, fi

Because This Is Christmas

Fragile snowflakes are falling this night from the sky, Violet, blue, red Christmas lights are flashing while I'm passing by, Laughter and carols, the joyful sound of bells I'm hearing all around, A white, sparkling blanket is covering now the ground. I lift up my face, At the dark night's sky I gaze, I close my eyes wishing I could feel, The emotion they are talking about, the Christmas thrill, The clock strikes midnight, But my heart still can't warm up from this hollow, shiny light. I kneel in the snow, breathing deep inside, Somewhere on this barren road my soul died, But how could a scrawny light, Break the chain wrapped a

Revolution!

A time is among us, where I and you, as the people, must make a stand, Revolution! I say, this is what the world needs, Uprising you must hear things are starting to happen, we need a change, And a part, in what we have to say, A new set of rules with a new way of life, Viva La Revolution! Is all that's on my mind, Yes my dear... this is what the world needs

My Hero Academia Song Parody: Just a Man

DEKU I look into your eyes and I Hurt so bad I want to cry. You’re as tired as I am, living like it’s war. Will we outlive these dark days, And avenge the slain? Is all that is left endless pain? Don’t let these questions misconstrue, I’m trying to help you. I’m just a man, who’s trying to do good, Helping out whether or not he actually should. I’m just a man, who’ll take on any trial, If it means there’s even one chance that all of you can smile. I’m just a man… But when does a cape become a battle flag? When does a quirk become a blade? When does a hero become a monster? When does an outstretched hand become a fist? When does a symbol start to dismay? When does a hero become a monster? CROWD When does a cape become a battle flag? When does a quirk become a blade? DEKU Forgive me! CROWD When does a hero become a monster? DEKU Forgive me! CROWD When does a hero become a monster?! DEKU Forgive me! I’m just a man…
